I have a very strange problem.

One of our remote players refuses to update the weather it is jsut stuck on Monday / Tuesday, I am totally unsure why.

1) the unit has a working internet connection
2) I can remote in using logmein software and control the unit
3) The exact same scene on another computer will update the weather perfectly fine
4) the RSS and other web based content updates as it should
5) the date and time on the computer are correct - time and date syncs every 24 hours and works fine

- I am totally out of ideas, its probably something simple

Can anyone offer advice ?

Try and clear the cache under Studio > Stations > select player > click Eraser icon on top

Just re-cached the computer and still saying Monday / Tuesday weather - very strange. Where does signage player get its date from ? The windows clock or online somewhere ?

It gets it from online source. Delete the Player's cache manually ... that it strange.
Close Player and controller and delete Cookie:

To delete the registered user local cookie so you can re-login delete the SignagePlayer.XXX directory:

In XP
Delete C:\Documents and Settings\USER_NAME\Application Data\SignagePlayer.XXX

In Windows 7 / Vista
Delete C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\SignagePlayer.XXX

In Mac OS X
rm -r -f /Users/YOUR_USER/Library/Preferences/SignagePlayer.XXX
AND
rm -r -f /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/SignagePlayer.XXX

In Linux / Ubuntu
rm -r -f /root/.appdata/Signage

no still does it,

quickly noticed signage controller says something along the lines of

"signage controller modified time 1315080808"

would this have something to do with it ?

It may be that you have a firewall that is preventing access or limiting access to the URL which we contact to get the data feed for the Weather (which is not our regular download path... )

Maybe because of your firewall has been limited your connection. You should check it.
