jpegs not showing

I noticed when I upload a jpeg to the timeline that if the jpeg is higher resolution like 150 or 300 dpi that the image will not show on the airplayer. Is this an issue with the monitor or the player. I've tried it on a 20 inch computer monitor as well as a 46" lg with both resolutions set to 1366 x 768 and the result is the same. When images are set to 72 dpi then it works fine.
