I don't know that the current release has proof of play statistics. Will this feature be incorporated into a future release? I would think that it is a priority feature, especially for those of us who plan on hosting 3rd party advertisements within the digital signage.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hello,

Yes, the proof of play per resources ( including media files and scenes ) is something we definitely add.
We are focusing now on white label and reseller support but will add this in the near future.

How is the proof of play feature coming along? Any estimated time of arrival?

Thanks.

(By the way, I am still loving the software... you people are doing a great job!)

Hi Jeff,
You can check the latest updates on the road map here: http://mediasignage.com/html/road_map.html
And the proof of play is a small part of the Advertising Engine.

Thank you for your interest in MediaSignage,

Thanks for your reply. As much as I surf the board, I am surprised that the whole "Advertising Engine" escaped my memory.

Your answer has raised another question for me though. In the roadmap it says, in part "....We?re initiating an advertising engine that will let you ?sell? some of your digital signage to other advertisers -- businesses who may want to target your your customers. With this engine, you can provide proof-of-play to your customers, and provide them the tools for simple management of their ads. ....."

I am currently in the process of starting the creation of my web site. I was looking at an e-commerce template, but from what I read in the above quote I may not need the payment option to be a part of it as this will be incorporated into the advertising engine? Can you describe in a little more detail what your vision is for how that will work? I understand that third-party advertisers will be able to access a dashboard with the ability to manage their ad and get the proof of play statistics from it. Will it also include a "shopping cart" with the payment option hosted through you or will I need to make other arrangements through somebody like "Google Checkout"? Thanks  :)

At first the billing and ad engine will not be integrated, but at a later stage, yes all will be.
I don't know about a shopping cart, but you will be able to manage all info and payment from within the Studio.
We will have to wait and see as time goes by and things get cleared.
