How do you configure a new PC?

I can't find this info anywhere on your FAQ's or Forum.  Is there an available document that describes how to completely set up and configure a new PC?  ie:  What Services need to be shut down?  Auto updates?  Disable AirPlayer updates?  Install codecs?  Etc, etc.  Thanks!
